What is AMSA@FAU?
AMSA@FAU is one of the local chapters of AMSA (American Medical Student Association) which is a student-governed national organization that will assist you in attaining the necessary tools to guide and prepare you on your journey toward medical school. We host regular meetings throughout the academic year that will provide you with various opportunities to be a competitive medical school applicant. These include volunteering opportunities, doctor shadowing (such as autopsy viewings, and optometry surgical viewings), MCAT prep course information sessions and much more.
How is AMSA different from other organizations? When you join AMSA, you become part of a vital force of future physicians who believe that patients and health professionals are partners in the management of health care and that access to high-quality health care is a right and not a privilege. At AMSA, activism is a way of life. Student idealism is transformed into meaningful public service, innovation and institutional change.
